In October 2020, Series 4 of Ugly House To Lovely House with George Clarke aired on Channel 4 with more homeowners transforming their unloved houses into inspirational homes.
We were excited to be involved with two of the inspiring transformations - one in our home town of Sheffield and the other in Hampshire. We've included some more details about their renovations below and rounded up the wall art they chose so you can get the look.
The show really opens your eyes up to home improvement possibilities and with the majority of people spending most of the day inside this year – there’s no better time to get your creative juices flowing and bring a new lease of life to your home.
Ugly House To Lovely House Sheffield
The Sheffield episode saw homeowners Helen & Greg renovate there 1930’s semi-detached home into a super sustainable, healthy and inspirational family home for five with the help of George Clarke and architects CE+CA studio. With the added pressure of rainy February weather and Covid-19 lockdown, the project had its challenges but the final reveal was certainly worth the wait.
With sustainability at the forefront, the project included super insulation, a kitchen made with salvaged school work bench worktops, designed and built by Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens and a wildflower meadow on the roof of the rear extension to help with drainage and insulation.
It was a fantastic project to be involved in and the episode was particularly special to us as it was based in our home town of Sheffield. It featured a selection of Sheffield prints from our collection and we have to say it was a great feeling to see our city truly represented with the 0114 art print taking pride of place in the kitchen diner.
All of our framed prints are handmade with sustainably sourced wood and supplied with 100% recyclable packaging, so with natural and sustainable products being used throughout the building it was great do our bit too.

Ugly House To Lovely House Hampshire
The first episode of the series was based in the pretty Hampshire village of Hartley Wintney and saw homeowners Fiona & Hugh, who hated everything except their garden, transform their 1960’s home with the help of George Clarke and architect Greg Blee.
The couple made brave decisions and definitely stepped out of their comfort zone - which really paid off. Opening the kitchen and dining area up and installing an internal window so that you could see right through from the hallway to the courtyard and into the back garden, flooded the property with light. This combined with a fully finished white exterior and light wooden windows, gave it an ultra modern, beach house vibe.
Abstract art was a favourite choice in this property. This episode featured our Top of the World abstract canvas oversized art in the kitchen, (which recently created a bit of a buzz on Instagram) and minimal abstract paintings in the dining and snug area. These bold designs and dark colours really stand out against the white interior, and the large sizes create impact throughout the open plan space.
Modern abstract prints can be a great way to update your interior. Not only can they create visual interest with a splash of colour - but can be interpreted in so many different ways, making for a great conversation piece.
